Políticas de acceso abierto (OA)
La torre del Virrey es una publicación en acceso abierto cuyo contenido está disponible de forma gratuita para sus usuarios y no tiene gastos de procesamiento editorial para los autores. Por tanto, es posible considerarla como revista diamante, según los criterios de las organizaciones nacionales e internacionales dedicadas a la promoción del acceso abierto.
La torre del Virrey. Revista de Estudios Culturales está indexada en las siguientes bases de datos: Emerging Sources Citation Index, Academic Search Premier, Fuente Academica Plus, IBZ Online, DIALNET, Dulcinea, LATINDEX, ISOC, ULRICHS, RECOLECTA, GOOGLE SCHOLAR . Ha sido evaluada en LATINDEX. Catálogo v1.0 (2002 - 2017). Además, cuenta con la medición de citas de Clarivate que indica que La torre del Virrey está situada en el cuarto cuartil (Q4) de la categoría HUMANITIES, MULTIDISCIPLINARY - ESCI, concretamente en la posición 389 del total de 403 revistas incluidas (JCR 2025).
La torre del Virrey is an open access publication whose content is freely available to its users and has no editorial processing fees for authors. Therefore, it can be considered a Diamond journal, according to the criteria of national and international organizations dedicated to promoting open access.
La torre del Virrey. Revista de Estudios Culturales is indexed in the following databases: Emerging Sources Citation Index, Academic Search Premier, Fuente Academica Plus, IBZ Online, DIALNET, Dulcinea, LATINDEX, ISOC, ULRICHS, RECOLECTA, and GOOGLE SCHOLAR. It has been evaluated in LATINDEX Catalog v1.0 (2002-2017). Furthermore, it has the Clarivate citation measurement which indicates that La torre del Virrey is located in the fourth quartile (Q4) of the HUMANITIES, MULTIDISCIPLINARY - ESCI category, specifically in position 389 out of a total of 403 journals included (JCR 2025).

Los autores conservan sin restricciones la titularidad de los derechos de autor sobre sus textos. Al aceptar el manuscrito para su publicación, los autores conceden a la revista el derecho de primera publicación de la obra. Dicha publicación, se realiza mediante la concesión de una licencia de uso no exclusiva. Así pues, los autores pueden depositar y difundir libremente todas las versiones de su trabajo en repositorios institucionales o páginas web personales, en cualquier momento, siempre y cuando se cite la fuente original de publicación.

Authors retain copyright of their works without restriction. By accepting the manuscript for publication, the authors grant the journal the right of first publication, which is carried out under a non-exclusive license for use. Consequently, authors may freely deposit and disseminate all versions of their work in institutional repositories or personal websites at any time, provided that the original source of publication is cited.

Política de IA
De acuerdo con el código de conductas y buenas prácticas para editores de la COPE, no puede atribuirse la autoría de un texto a la IA porque no esta puede hacerse responsable ni gestionar conflictos de intereses, derechos de autor ni acuerdos de licencia (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/cope-position/authorship-and-ai-tools). Por tanto, La torre del Virrey no aceptará ni publicará textos ideados y/o redactados en su totalidad o con ayuda de IA generativa.
Los autores que hayan utilizado cualquier herramienta de IA durante la elaboración del texto enviado deberán explicitar, al realizar el envío, qué IA fue utilizada, qué función desempeñó (adaptación a las normas, corrección de erratas, reformulación de un párrafo…), las instrucciones o peticiones realizadas y las secciones en las que fue empleada. En caso de plagio o infracción de derechos de autor derivados del uso de IA, el autor se hará responsable del contenido enviado. Ante las sospechas de uso de IA generativa y/o uso no declarado, la revista se pondrá en contacto con el autor.
Los revisores (pares ciegos) no utilizarán la IA para evaluar un manuscrito y se les pedirá que, Junto al informe de revisión, declaren no haber hecho uso de dicha herramienta. Está terminantemente prohibido que los revisores introduzcan fragmentos o el texto completo que les haya sido asignado en cualquier software de IA. En caso de detectarse el uso de IA en la revisión, esta será desestimada y el revisor no recibirá la certificación correspondiente por dicha tarea.
El equipo editorial se compromete a no utilizar la IA durante la revisión y maquetación de los textos. En caso de sospecharse un uso de IA no declarado por parte de los autores o revisores, el equipo editorial se reserva el uso orientativo de herramientas como ZeroGPT.
El incumplimiento de la política de IA de La torre del Virrey conllevará la retirada del manuscrito y comprometerá futuras colaboraciones o publicaciones en la revista.
In accordance with COPE's Code of Conduct and Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors, AI cannot be attributed as an author of a text because it cannot take responsibility for or manage conflicts of interest, copyright, or licensing agreements (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/cope-position/authorship-and-ai-tools). Therefore, La torre del Virrey will not accept or publish texts conceived and/or drafted entirely or with the
assistance of generative AI.
Authors who have used any AI tool during the preparation of their submitted manuscript must explicitly state, at the time of submission, which AI was used, the role it played (adaptation to guidelines, proofreading, paragraph rephrasing, etc.), the prompts or requests issued, and the sections in which it was applied. In the event of plagiarism or copyright infringement resulting from the use of AI, the author will be held responsible for the submitted content. If the use of generative AI and/or undeclared AI use is suspected, the journal will contact the author.
Peer reviewers (double-blind) shall not use AI to evaluate a manuscript and will be required to declare the non-use of such tools alongside their review report. Reviewers are strictly prohibited from entering excerpts or the complete assigned text into any software. If the use of AI is detected in a review, the review will be discarded, and the reviewer will not receive certification for the task.
The editorial team commits to not using AI during the review and typesetting of texts. Should undeclared AI use by authors or reviewers be suspected, the editorial team reserves the right to use tools such as ZeroGPT for guidance purposes.
Failure to comply with La torre del Virrey's AI policy will result in the rejection/withdrawal of the manuscript and will compromise future collaborations or publications with the journal.
